I just read through this article prepared by the OECD. It talks about the importance of parents taking an active part in the education of their children.
For children to succeed, it takes more than a great teacher to teach them, it takes a great parent to nurture and encourage them.
"But I'm sooo busy!" I hear many people say. Let's face it, every parent is busy, but some things are more important than others. Do those dishes need to be washed right now? Do you really need to hang the washing this instant, when you could be sitting down with your child and talking to them, reading with them, hugging and kissing them? What is more important than that?
Let's remember our primary goal in life should be to raise our children as best we can.
